Theme 4: What's up Keto Platform, any new goodies recently?

Easy access to detailed REST API documentation and testing views

Access of solution data easily through a REST API has been one of design criteria for the Platform and our clients have been increasingly utilizing this feature for various integration cases. From the version 5.52 onwards, we have added a documentation page detailing the API for a configured process to simplify the task of the developer.

Once we have entered the proper authorization keys to the solution (replacing the data <your integration key/token> in the picture), you have the possibility to export the available request in JSON format, to be used for example in Postman application for quick functionality check.

If you want to use a third-party API from the Keto solution, we are naturally providing a nice configuration view to enter the Request URL, Header and BODY data and test the request in the configuration view.

We will gladly tell you more about the integration capabilities, it doesn’t need to be as hard as in the past.

New version of the Template allows you to extract data also to PowerPoint and Excel templates

Since platform version 5.52, you have had the possibility to use PowerPoint and Excel templates, in addition to the existing Word templates, as reports from Portfolios or Tabs.

This example shows three templates defined for a Project Portfolio. Each template contains tags to retrieve field information automatically, either for one project, or to selected set of Projects.

If you wish to add this kind of reports to your solution, just drop a message to your Keto contact!

Improved capabilities for Charts

New Chart creation dialog offers additional configuration options for several Chart types. For example, now you can add Quick Filters, so that you can adjust the Chart source data directly in the Chart itself.

Each Chart type also includes more styling and formatting options for your Dashboards.

New capabilities in Resource Management

When using the Resource allocation feature in a Project (or any other similar Portfolio object), the new allocation dialog allows you to enter the load also in FTE units. Entered FTE is internally converted to hours using the Allocation capacity defined in each User’s calendar.

The dialog also now allows you to define the weekdays used for allocation, so for example you can have somebody working in your Project every Wednesday for 0,5 FTE.

Naturally, if you are allocating Resources in FTE, you want to use the same unit in the inbuilt reports. So now you can switch for example the Resource User View report to use FTE instead of hours, or even show the amounts in Working Days.

We have also added a new Portfolio view to show Portfolio’s Resource load directly in the Portfolio. This might save you a few mouse clicks every now and then, and simplify for example Portfolio report creating, if you are exporting Portfolio views to pdf.

Feedback and questions related to these new features are most welcome, as well as ideas for additional things giving you more value in your solution.
